Input and feedback from you well help make the future revisions of this guide better and even more helpful. Additionally I am always interested to hear how your eviction worked out.
I have one final favour to ask you now. After your eviction if you could take a few minutes to let me know how it went it would be appreciated. My intent is to take some of the best stories and potentially put them either as further addendum’s to the guide or potentially a separately with a tenant story book we are also compiling.
Application Walk Through – Updated
Since the pandemic the RTDRS has modified the process of applying. The good news is the process has been streamlined and simplified and they’ve also improved their website tremendously.
All RTDRS applications and hearings are now submitted online and held by telephone conference. This has sped the process up significantly and also made the process simpler for anyone applying, if they have some basic computer knowledge and access.
The link to the RTDRS info from Service Alberta is here, Residential Tenancy Dispute Resolution Service.
Now on the site many of the basic questions people had when applying are readily answered, but it still doesn’t answer what you should include in your application and that is where my guide still provides you with the best possible information for a winning application.
Below you’ll find an image of the updated RTDRS website page. I’ve placed a red arrow to illustrate where to click on the actual page to start your application and also of note I put the green arrow to show you where notifications about the current application status can be found.
At the time of updating this you will note they are a week behind processing applications and you will find this varies throughout the year and even during the month with typically more delays at the beginning of the month as applications increase.

For additional assistance I’m leaving the information prior to the changes below as you may find some additional helpful hints within it as well.
Application Walk Through Video – OLD
To further help with making this process as easy as possible I have also included this bonus video that will walk you through the application form from the RTDRS that you will need to fill out if you are attending a hearing. Love to hear your feedback or any suggestions to improve it.
